‘I will just give these to the chickens.’ How can such a simple phrase lead to a major rethink of how we stay fit and healthy.
You see I was standing at Community Lifestyle Support’s nursery on one their market days when I heard that phrase and it really got me thinking about the supply system for fresh vegetables.
People over profits
We know that the dominant cause of sickness and death in 1900 was infections disease and now it is non infectious diseases like diabetes, heart attacks strokes and dementia.
The reason is simple, back in 1900 our food was full of beneficial microbes which was fine for gut health but also full of pathogens which made us sick.
We totally reversed that and now have powerful chemicals and high standards of hygiene which has made a dramatic reduction in infectious diseases but also killed of both beneficial and harmful microbes so we just switched from infections to non infectious diseases.
Real and fantasy
Gbiota is not simply about growing plants. We breed a wide spectrum of microbes in a growing medium calledGbiotamix and then grow plants so the microbes are packaged in the plant so when people eat the plants they act as pre and pro biotics to enhance gut health.
Take a pill, become slim fit and healthy and live to 100 without ever getting sick. Scientific breakthrough or adverting BS? Whatever else it is an intriguing story.
Invite to medical research
Excess storage of fat was largely blamed on our modern diet which could, it was optimistically thought, simply be resolved by diet, particularly the restriction of calories.
The harsh reality is that this simply has not worked and populations across the globe continue to get fatter and suffer from the related diseases. This is probably the biggest health issue facing modern humans.
Lamborghini and our gut
A dumb drunken driver in control of a Lamborghini is a dangerous combination.
Our gut brain is the controller for our appetite.
A gut biome which send out hormones to make us crave sugars and fats is equally dangerous and has led to the modern epidemic of heart disease, strokes, diabetes, dementia etc.
The Wickimix story
Chop my foot off – no way
My wife Xiulan is a medical doctor, a gynaecologist and surgeon, so I was a bit surprised when she was diagnosed as diabetic. At that time I knew nothing about diabetes but when her foot started to turn black and the doctors started talking about amputation I knew I had to do something.
I am an engineer, not a doctor but I have been in the innovation business for a long time and was selected as one of the top one hundred Australian innovators by the Institute of Engineers for my pioneering work on computer simulation and knew how the process of science and technology actually worked, so I felt I should at least try.
Feed your brains
Our health span is set by our intelligent control system, our gut and head brains and these must be fed real food which is genuinely fresh before the beneficial microbes die.
In this, and the many articles I write I show how people, ordinary people like you and me can take our food into our own hands to have food which will extend our health span so we are fit and healthy into old age.
But this means people must stop thinking that there will be some magic saviour coming along and solving all the problems of the world for them.
It is only by individual people taking action, may be just a minor action like putting a wicking box on windowsill, not a big deal for one box, but if there is enough people taking action it will really change the world for future generations.
Unks and Ununks
John is still claiming that the modern supermarket food system is providing a reliable and abundant food supply with hygienic and energy packed food from all over the world regardless of season.
Sue is arguing that the food is just packed with sugars and fats and lacking key nutrients and minerals and is deliberately made addictive and is the cause of the modern epidemic of non-infectious diseases.
But they have reached common ground that the food is inert lacking the life which supports our gut brain, which among other functions controls our appetite.
I want to talk about how to choose the best type of Wicking to suit your needs. The best way of doing that is to introduce you to Sue and John.
You have already met Mary the single mum living in a flat, she want the simplest, cheapest and easiest to use version possible but Sue is different so let me tell you about Sue.
It is a fun story
Upgraded beds Introduction
The world is changing at an incredible rate, climate change, the virus and the polarisation of the political system are immense problems, new technologies like artificial intelligence may seem beneficial but whatever the benefits increase inequality between the haves and have nots.
Innovators, like me, ask how can we develop technologies to help mitigate these problems and often that it is the easy bit, a bigger problems in how to make that technology widely available with the relevant documentation.
