School gut biome project

How schools can set up Gbiota beds to grow plant that act as natural pre and pro biotics

– the gut biome

In our gut are a huge number of micro organisms which talk to each to create an intelligent system – our gut brain.

This gut brain controls our appetite, supports our immune system and produces many of the complex chemicals needed to replace our body parts as they wear.

Just read Spoon-Fed Why Almost Everything We’ve been Told about Food is Wrong by Tim Spector of Kings College London – a leading researcher in the field of Food and Gut Biology.

He is a basic researcher while my aim is to make the latest research readily available so all people can benefit from the leading edge research.

In practise this has meant developing the Gbiota bed technology where beneficial biology is bred using green and food waste.

The most important people to educate are our kids as their gut biology will affect their health throughout their lives. Older people can still change their gut biology but it may mean changing their established dietary routine.

Our current focus in on helping schools set up Gbiota beds so our kids can learn and experience the benefits of a healthy gut biota.

Plants are natural pre and pro biotics – but they have to be grown in nutrient rich biologically active soil. Unfortunately modern foods are grown in degraded soil with depleted biology.

Over hundred of thousands of years we have fed out guts by eating plants grown in nutrient rich, biologically active soils.

But we cannot go back in time so in Gbiota beds we breed the beneficial biology in recycled food and green waste.

It is important to teach our kids to transition from exploiting our planet to recycling and regenerating our soils.

Unfortunately modern foods based on industrial chemical farming are low in gut food so our gut biology is very poor in comparison with our ancient ancestors. This has led to the modern epidemics which are the results of excess fat storage in the body – obesity, diabetes, heart attacks, dementia etc.

Our gut biology is formed early in life, during birth, breast feeding and the food we eat when young. This affect our health throughout our life. It is important for our kids to start life with a healthy gut biota.

Gbiota beds were developed to grow plants to provide gut food as natural pre and pro biotics.

The school gut biota project aims to educate kids on the importance of gut biology and let them experience the benefits of eating gut food by setting up Gbiota beds in schools.

Virtually every school would have the facilities to build Gbiota beds, ideally in ground beds but if that option is not available in simple Tote boxes which can be located in any small area.
