Social movement

Gbiotafood is a social movement.  We don’t sell anything.  We just want to provide an alternative way of buying food so it is genuinely healthy.

Across the globe people are suffering from a bad diet leading to the ‘fat in the wrong places’ diseases of diabetes, obesity and dementia.

The scale of this global health epedemic is staggering – every twelve seconds someone has a limb amputated from diabetes which is also the most common cause of blindness.

These are man made diseases created by poor food lacking essential nutrients and biology.

This is not the world we want our grandchildren to grow up in.

Regenerative farming is not for profit but to ensure healthy food for us now and into the future.

Regenerative farmers  fully understand the damage we a doing to our health and our enviroment by a food system focused purely on profit.

The aim of the Gbiota club, which is open to anyone who shares our views, growers, consumers, cafes, local gardening clubs etc  is to bring them together in an alternative food system so people can enjoy food which is genuinly healthy at an affordable price.

How to buy genuine fruit and vegetables.

The aim of this web is not to convince you of the benefits of incorporating fruit and vegetables into your diet. We provide plenty of references to the extensive research by respected research organisation for you to study.

Dr. Mosconi’s ‘Brain Food’ is highly informative.

If you are in a position to grow your own food this web has links to technologies like Wicking and Gbiota beds, baby greens, tipping and other ways of growing fruit and vegetables which are nutritious, biologically active and free of toxic chemicals.

But if you have to buy your fruit and vegetables you enter a world of picture perfect fruit and vegetables but grown in soils depleted in essential trace minerals, devoid of essential beneficial biology and promoted by manipulative advertising loaded with words like natural, fresh, local, organic.

We show how you can buy fruit and vegetables from a regenerative farmers who goes to great lengths to improve the nutrient and biological quality of their soils and you can buy while the plants are still in the ground so they are harvested and delivered so you have the benefits of home grown produce.

When growing plants are full of beneficial nutrients (phyto-nutrients) and biology.  These deteriorate as soon as they are cut from the mother plant so the sooner you eat them after harvesting the healthier the food.  That’s why we call our sister web www.pickandeat.shop you buy the plants while they are still growing in nutrient rich biologically active soil.

That’s one of the secrets of the blue zones.

Quality control

One of the commonest question we are asked is “How do I know what is in my food?”

The approach we adopt is information disclosure. We don’t tell the growers they must grow this or that way, although we are happy to make recommendations. But when a grower has decided that this is the way they want to grow we ask that they fully disclose there growing methods on their page at www.pickandeat.shop for customers to view.

We are in contact with testing laboratories and nutrient suppliers who can measure the nutrient content in the soil and in the plant’s leaves and provide test results and recommendation which again the grower can publish on their page.

We also have a system where customers can visit the grower, see for themselves how the food is grown and publish referrals on the site for other buyers to review.

Getting started

In this web we look at the complex chain starting from the soil in which we grow our food to how food affects our gut and head brains which regulate our body through to how these affect our endocrine system and finally our health. This inevitably means looking at how our society works and the need for a more compassionate, equal and honest society.

This involves looking at a range of leading edge scientific research across a range of disciplines which can hardly be classified as ‘light reading’.

Some people are looking for a simple way of avoiding having their legs chopped of from diabetes or simply want to avoid the podgies.

The  web provides a simple way of getting immediate health benefits by the dead simple way of locating a local cafe, (from the search option in our www.pickandeat.shop web site), which offers Gbiota green smoothies which you can drink before or with your meals.

There is a little talk about how our gut and head brains naturally regulate our bodies, the dangers of the all to common sugar spikes leading to spurts of insulin – the fat making hormone – and how this sugar spike can be simply be avoided by sugar blockers – vegetables which slow the entry of sugar into our blood streams so avoiding the spurt of the fat making hormone – insulin.

For many this will be enough and for those requiring a deeper understanding upfront success is a great motivator. Read more at www.pickandeat.shop

Choices

We have a choice, eat food

– that leads people in the blues zones to being fit and active into their nineties

– or food full of fats and sugars and toxic chemicals (and devoid of nutrients) that lead to infirmity, and early death from diabetes, obesity and dementia.

We have a choice, technology that

–  works for the benefit of monopoly mega companies

– or that works for the benefit of society.

We have a choice of living in a society that is

– a supportive and cooperative

– or a society full of manipulation, dishonesty and tension.

We have a choice of buying

– without thinking to make others financially rich

– or thinking about how and what we buy to make us healthily rich.

What to do next?

Learn about how our brains control our bodies

If you want to learn more about how diet affects the brain from an internationally recognised expert read Dr. Mosconi’s book.

How to eat for maximum brain power and health from an expert in both neuroscience and nutrition.

Like our bodies, our brains have very specific food requirements. And in this eye-opening book from an author who is both a neuroscientist and a certified integrative nutritionist, we learn what should be on our menu.

Dr. Lisa Mosconi, whose research spans an extraordinary range of specialties including brain science, the microbiome, and nutritional genomics, notes that the dietary needs of the brain are substantially different from those of the other organs, yet few of us have any idea what they might be. Her innovative approach to cognitive health incorporates concepts that most doctors have yet to learn. Busting through advice based on pseudoscience, Dr. Mosconi provides recommendations for a complete food plan, while calling out noteworthy surprises, including why that paleo diet you are following may not be ideal, why avoiding gluten may be a terrible mistake, and how simply getting enough water can dramatically improve alertness.

Including comprehensive lists of what to eat and what to avoid, a detailed quiz that will tell you where you are on the brain health spectrum, and 24 mouth-watering brain-boosting recipes that grow out of Dr. Mosconi’s own childhood in Italy, Brain Food gives us the ultimate plan for a healthy brain. Brain Food will appeal to anyone looking to improve memory, prevent cognitive decline, eliminate brain fog, lift depression, or just sharpen their edge.

Confused?

There is just so much information on diet and health it can be very confusing. The simplest and quickest way of getting improvement is to have a green smoothie before each meal.

This will help restore you gut and head brains which will then regulate your body without you having to think about complicated diets. Sometime the simplest is the best.

Starting the paradigm shift

A paradigm shift is a fundamental change in approach or underlying assumptions. We are promoting the major paradigm shift of stop trying to regulate manually how many calories we eat but instead eat food which will restore our gut and head brains which will then automatically regulate how much and what sort of food we want to eat. This is exactly what people in the blue zones have been doing for centuries.

Feed our brains, our head and our gut brains and they will look after us.

How paradigm shift actually happen

Colin was a major pioneer in the early days of computer aided engineering. His software showed that many of the current assumptions were simply wrong and had to convince his fellow engineers to change their way of thinking. Eventually after much ridicule and major battles he was successful and his ideas completely changed an industry. We can learn a lot about how to change the food paradigm from his experiences. When people can just go to their local supermarket and buy abundant food from anywhere in the world it is not so easy to convince people there is a food and health crisis. Read more at blue zones
